The City of West Kelowna is a vibrant, growing city located on the west shores of beautiful Okanagan Lake. The City of West Kelowna’s Development Services Division is seeking to fill a permanent, full time position of Economic Development and Tourism Coordinator.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Economic Development Officer, the Economic Development & Tourism Coordinator will implement and track marketing campaigns and projects focused on destination marketing, generate content for Visit Website, oversee tourism social media channels including developing, scheduling and optimizing content, facilitate industry network sessions and focus groups, act as a liaison for industry stakeholders and partners to facilitate program activities. On the economic development side the incumbent will prepare correspondence, transmit report and other communications to staff, external agencies and stakeholders. The position will collect, analyze local, provincial and national statistical data as well as maintain and generate content for the City’s economic development website, social media channels and marketing campaigns.
The successful candidate will have strong program/project development skills, community/client focused and excellent interpersonal abilities. The incumbent will be well organized and able to work effectively with minimal guidance and supervision.
- Diploma in Business with focus on Marketing or Tourism Marketing
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in marketing, economic development and/or tourism
- Experience in website management and social media campaign development including content optimization for audience engagement and growth
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver’s License
