DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Industrial Mechanic will perform mechanical work such as fitting, overhauling, servicing and maintaining machinery and equipment (e.g. tanks, valves, pumps, motors, generators, compressors, control systems, and other installations existing in municipal water treatment plants, water distribution or wastewater collection systems). Assists in processing and monitoring preventative maintenance and overhaul programs for a variety of Public Works machinery and equipment. Responsible for maintaining appropriate record keeping and assists with the development, implementation and ongoing upkeep of central maintenance management programs related to work activities. Utilize cranes and trucks to complete various projects, as well as scheduled and reactive repair and maintenance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Canadian Red Seal Inter–Provincial TQ as a Millwright (Industrial Mechanic)
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1
  • Confined Space Entry training
  • Fall Protection
  • Recognized training as an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
